The pop culture influences me by taking my soul into the fashion. I don't think I am really into fashion like some of my friends because the new items alway come out throught out the year. I can't afford to have everything. I change some of my behavior when I came to the Untied States because the environment around me is different from where I came from. I think it's a better change to my life because I has became a "lady". Back in the years, I used to did some nonsense stuff that I didn't really know what I am doing. People around think think I am crazy.

I notice that people do things for reasons. When I fisrt enrolled this class, I didn't know what is pop culture and what is high culture. Now I knew that pop culture and high culture is different but they have something that relate to each other. Pop culture is something that is new and can't stay long. High culture is something that is educated and will last longer like history. Both of these culture have a deep influence in our live. We can't live without them.


I love both American and Chinese Culture because they're very different. I love the pop star in China because I think he's cute and he has a good voice. A lot of people in China like him because they think he's kind. I love the way he talks and acts in the movie. I also love the Cartoon because it's not real. People on the screen can do something that we can't do in real life. Cartoon that appear on the screen can reflect the reality of our live or how we see things.

I read the article "People like us" and I found something that can related to this reading. I only fit in with the people that look like me. I can't communicate with the people that don't look like me because I can't find something to realte to them. The culture and behavior of mine and theirs are different. When I talk to them, I only have a few things to discuss with them, but it doesn't last for long. When I hang out with my Chinese friends, I would find something that we can relate to and it goes on. The tells the why people can't fit in with others around them.

I always change my faviorite songs because I will get tire of them over 2 or 3 weeks. My favorite song for now is "Back to December" by Taylor Swift because her songs have no bad words. It's country pop music. I think Taylor is the best singer who I had known for singing country pop muisc because she wrote songs related to herslef. She often write songs that express her feelings. SHe had learned how to play guitar when she was young. She even write songs to other singers.

The movie "Toy Story 3" was about toys and human's feelings.The most motivate part of the movie is when Woody rejoin his friends in the garbage dumpster but was caught by something and they were hanging upside down. Moreover, when they’re almost fell into the hot pot that dissolve the metal, all of them were holding hands and waiting for devil to take them away. However, the aliens have saved their lives and they had escaped the death.

I love this movie because it's a 3D movie for families to watch. I think toys do have feelings even though we can't see them. All dolls want is that we can play with them. I am a person that love to sleep with a bed of dolls. I alway hold them when I sleep. I love them so much and I never think to throw them away or donate to other people. I think it's a good movie for children to watch.

The technology that I can't live without is laptop or iPod because I love to listen to songs wherever I go. I also need to watch movies on Laptops. I can't avoid to not have them in the rest of my life. I really like to sing even though my singing is horrible. I need iPod every tie I am riding the train or the bus. I have to listen to pop music in the morning because it can make me awake and exciting. I also can play games or chat with my friends on my laptop.

The Glog is about go out with a group of people and taking picture around the places that we go. We have to take picture that relate to pop culture or high culture. For this project we went to park and take picture of it. We went to the history museum and take picture of high culture. I think it's historical because they have history of Chicago. We also have to interview people and ask them what they know about pop culture and high culture.

5 global water crisis facts:
1. 84% of water-related deaths are in children ages 0 – 14.
2. 3.575 million people die each year from water-related disease.
3. People are facing severe and chronic water shortages.
4. Not all have access to clean water about 2 billion people have lack access to clean water and 1 billion don’t use clean water
5. pollution has gotten into rivers and lakes making them toxic to humans.

We now know that the water crisis is affecting everyone and water is running short. so what we can do to avert the water cycle is every family lowers there water usages that way were converting water.


How much water is needed to produce various food groups?
1. A pound of beef - 2,500 gallons, a ton of corn - 1,000 and 2,000 tons, a ton of rice- 2,000 to 5,000 tons hamburger - 2,400 liters, wheat-1,300 liters


Conserve water:
One way is by saving water indoors by purchasing appliances that offer water and energy-efficient cycle options.
2. Another way is in the Bathroom by not using the toilet as garbage can. Place a trash can next to the toilet and use it instead.
3. Kitchen by Letting your pots and pans soak instead of letting the water run while you clean them.
4. Get a bucket of soapy water to wash your car, or simply place a shut-off nozzle on the end of your hose that way you don’t waste more water.

5. If you have plants don’t over-water your plants. Learn how much water they need and how best to apply just the right amount.
