5 global water crisis facts:
1. 84% of water-related deaths are in children ages 0 – 14.
2. 3.575 million people die each year from water-related disease.
3. People are facing severe and chronic water shortages.
4. Not all have access to clean water about 2 billion people have lack access to clean water and 1 billion don’t use clean water
5. pollution has gotten into rivers and lakes making them toxic to humans.
We now know that the water crisis is affecting everyone and water is running short. so what we can do to avert the water cycle is every family lowers there water usages that way were converting water.
How much water is needed to produce various food groups?
1. A pound of beef - 2,500 gallons, a ton of corn - 1,000 and 2,000 tons, a ton of rice- 2,000 to 5,000 tons hamburger - 2,400 liters, wheat-1,300 liters
Conserve water:
One way is by saving water indoors by purchasing appliances that offer water and energy-efficient cycle options.
2. Another way is in the Bathroom by not using the toilet as garbage can. Place a trash can next to the toilet and use it instead.
3. Kitchen by Letting your pots and pans soak instead of letting the water run while you clean them.
4. Get a bucket of soapy water to wash your car, or simply place a shut-off nozzle on the end of your hose that way you don’t waste more water.
5. If you have plants don’t over-water your plants. Learn how much water they need and how best to apply just the right amount.
